Today I'm On My Soapbox!

This morning I was on the treadmill at the gym and I think if I could I would have jumped through the tv and smacked around the person they were interviewing. The Florida couple were so distraught that their family pet had disappeared that they had it cloned! Seriously?? First off cloning is WRONG!! God made me and only me, he made me unique and special and he only made one!! Secondly, this couple spent $155,000 on cloning their yellow lab! $155,000!!!
Children in third world countries are starving!! Right now they are straving and dying! 30,000 children will die TODAY from starvation. And this couple blew $155,000 on a freakin' dog!!! How? Why? What are they thinking?? People in the United States are losing their job everyday, struggling to keep their homes and feed their families!! $155,000!!!!
I try not to be judgemental (many times it's very hard) but this story really hit me hard and I'm having a very difficult time swallowing it! Maybe this couple gives to third world charities or maybe they help out people in their neighborhood who have lost their job!
I don't even know how to end this entry, I am still so mad and sad and baffled............

My Wonderful Brother!! And an Amazing Uncle!!

Garrett in all his glory!! If he's not killing animals, he's not happy!!
Look at that baby deer (is that a doe or a buck)!!
Normally I would never post a picture of dead animals, but this is what my brother loves!!
Nice Halloween Costume!!
Yeah! When Garrett got home from Iraq (alive)!!!!!
Our first Christmas with Aunt Lindsey!! Before she was Aunt Lindsey..
First time Garrett met Ella, he was in Iraq when she was born!!
We love Uncle Garrett and wish we saw more of him!

A little bit about Ella!

Her hair was jet black and stood up straight all over!
Nothing has changed over the years.. she's always been a daddy's girl!
Do you ever wonder how kids get it and we, the adults, don't? We've always said Ella has a direct connection with God. Sometimes more than we can even imagine. She will say some of the most amazing things, most of the time Jeremy and I are left speechless. Ella has big role in this world, we don't know what it is or what it will be or where she will end up, but we know God has big plans for this little girl!
I just want to share a couple of stories with you.
  • Jeremy and Kenny were talking one night about clothes, I wanted to buy Jeremy an argyle sweater and he was saying he would never wear it. If you know Jeremy his favorite wardrobe is a grey or black t-shirt and jeans. Well Kenny said "I saw Eric Becking wearing an argyle sweater at church, and dude if he wheres one you know its cool!" We didn't even realize Ella was listening and she piped in and said "God sees whats in your heart". Well enough said, what do say to that? Even though I wish Jeremy was a little more diverse in his wardrobe choices, it doesn't matter! God does not care what we wear!
  • When she was about 2 years old she would ride her tricycle around the living room saying "I'm going to make disciples" .
  • Last week Ella, Drew, Seth and I were driving in the van and I could hear Ella mumbling in the backseat. I asked her what she was saying. She said "God is talking to me" I asked her what he was saying she said "He talks to me all time and tells me he loves me."
  • Just this week Jeremy was taking her to school and she wanted Jeremy to play her favorite song. We didn't really know she had a favorite song. She wanted him to play Amazing Grace. Jeremy talked to her about what the song meant and she said "She knows, she sings it to God because she loves him and she will always forgive him". Ella tends to say things backward, but she was meaning she knows he will always forigve her.

These are just a few short stories, I could go on and on. I always tell Jeremy that I know God is talking to us through Ella. She defintely gives us challenging thoughts and makes us wonder how does a 4 year old get it and we don't!

Turbo Minivan is baaackk!!

Stressed Anyone??

Finally we have gotten our van back (with a brand new motor) and life is moving on. It has been a tough month but we made it. I have driven a mini van for over 5 years now and Jeremy has always called me the Turbo Minivan. Yes, I do tend to drive a little fast, but Momma's got places to go and people to see! I actually had been free and clear of speeding tickets for a while up until our Thanksgiving trip to see family. I got busted in a speed trap (how dare they??).
I'm glad to be back being a minivan momma. It's hard to believe from the girl that said she would never drive a minivan. Don't say you never will because before you know it, you will!!

Random Ramblings..

We still have not gotten our van from Honda yet!! Everyday we keep getting told it will be in about 2 days and that was about a week and half ago. I'm not as miffed anymore because they gave us a 2009 Accord as a loaner. We are now being told we will have our van by the end of hte week. It's been a while since Jeremy or I have driven a car. We forgot how fun they are, it seems so little and fast it will be a miracle if we survive this car without getting a speeding ticket!

Ella has said some pretty funny comments this week. Jeremy took a call one night and said "Sheila King" just called me and Ella walked into the bedroom and told me "oh yeah, well John McCain just called me". HILLARIOUS!! Another funny one is she got a cute little doll for Christmas that came with a diary. She calls the diary her diarrhea! HA!!

Drew is absoltuleyl not interested in potty training. He totally could care less. Yesterday he pooped in the floor. Then before I could put a diaper on him my phone rang, he was screaming so I went into my bedroom and shut the door. When I came out he was screaming at the door and had peed on the door! ugh??marking his territory..

Seth is cutting his 2nd tooth. He drools and chews alot and loves his mamma! He is very mobile in his walker he gets anywhere he needs to go!

Riley is 2 weeks away from her cheer competition in Nashville. They are practicing 4 days a week and getting really excited!! She is babysitting like crazy and making lots of money (saving up for the car)!!

Well that's the greatest and latest in the Ferguson home!! Many blessings to all who are reading this!

Aaaahhh... Uncle Kenny!

Kenny and Ella Rose
This seems like forever ago...
Kenny and Seth
He is always a pro at putting the babies to sleep.
Kenny and baby Drew (look how tiny)

I was going through all of our photos and came across all the pictures of Kenny with the kids.. I thought it was pretty cute. Kenny has been Jeremy's best friend for many years now!! Boy do they have some wild and crazy stories to tell about each other. When they are together I sometimes worry what the outcome may be. He's part of our family and we love him!!
ATTENTION: All the Single Ladies!!! You better put a ring on it (Beyonce shout out)!!!

This one car business is for the birds!

The past 3 weeks I have not had a vehicle that I can call my own! We sold our van on ebay (yep ebay) and I have been driving my husbands "monster truck" around with 4 kids for what feels like a year! Hopefully within a week I will have my new van that we bought off ebay (don't ask!) and life can move again.
I have came to a whole new appreciation of the great blessing of having 2 vehicles. I don't know how people with one car and a family do it? It is crazy, we have to car pool everywhere with a family of 6 piled into a truck. We even drove it 4 hours at Christmas to our families!!
I think it's been a big old piece of humble pie for me (I hate that saying). I didn't want to give up my 'top of the line' van. I had leather, heated seats, sunroof, DVD, sliding doors, everything you could possibly want in a minivan (if you want a minivan). I seriously did not want to give it up! But now I don't care about that anymore. I could care less if it had leather or a sunroof. I just want something with 4 wheels that our family can fit in comfortably that moves!!! ahhhhh!

Ok, I'm done. Sorry this sounds like a big rambling crazy woman fest. I think I need to go to bed!
Love,

More Christmas fun.

Drew loves the 4 wheeler he got, it looks like grandpa Ray's John Deere tractor!
Who's emjoying the Hulk more? I think daddy is going to love having these boys around so he can play too!
Riley helped the kids make cookies for Santa. She's the chef in the family!
Ella has her game face on. She loves Uno and apparently is pretty good at it. Gandpa Charlie told us she could make in it Vegas playing Uno. According to Ella grandpa only won once.
Wow! I look at this pictures and realize the maddness of all the gifts, noise and people. But more, I see how amazingly blessed we are.

Christmas fun...

Baby's First Christmas.
Seth loved to eat the wrapping paper and Drew liked to tear all the wrapping paper off, so it was a perfect match! I thought this was a fun picture of Jermey and his brother Nate.
Grandpa got up at 4:00 a.m. on our last morning to put the train up for the kids. Ella had been asking for it since we got there. Everybody got new pajamas on Christmas Eve, here they are on Christmas morning.

Welcome 2009!

In the Ferguson home we are glad to welcome 2009! 2008 was a crazy year for us.. a very unexpected but awesome little man named Seth Ryan, job changes, crazy home life with 3 children under the age of 4, cheerleading!!! I could go on, but there is no need to dwell on the past as we are ready for 2009(I think). I don't really do 'New Year Resolutions' but Jeremy and I do feel like 2009 is going to lead us down a new path. We don't really know more than that, but we know that God is in control and He knows best for us..
We recently just finished up our Chrismas journeys.. and I will post some fun pictures.
Happy New Year 2009!
